Phil ASKED THE GUIDE
What can be causing my 2005 Ford Falcon to cut out?
My 2005 Ford Falconwagon auto with 160,000 km cuts out, usually on the highway, but restarts with no problems until the next trip. The throttle body potentiometer and throttle position sensor have been replaced with genuine Ford parts totalling $1300 on separate occasions. The vehicle has a full service history, it’s always garaged and is in very good condition for its age, and having lived in the country all its life, it should have many years of service left. Can help me with this problem?

It’s most likely a problem with the engine management system; it could be a faulty connection, dodgey sensor, or a problem with the ECU.
